Subsequent to a recent Avast! update my OS slowed dramatically. Have been an Avast user for the 8 odd years since. Uninstalled it immediately and installed Avast. Malwarebytes & SuperAntiSpyware installed but both are disable from running at start-up and I use them solely as part of a thorough scan when I come to clean my system. Please keep in mind I'm not particularly tech-savvy and have included as much detailed info as that limited savvy permits.
